Lhassi (Indian Yoghurt Drink)
- 2 cups plain low-fat yogurt
- 2 cups reduced-fat milk
- 8 drops rose water (or to taste)
- 3/4 teaspoon ground cardamom
- 3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 4 1/2 teaspoons caster sugar
- 2/3 cup cold water
- ice cubes
Directions ::..
1. Put all the ingredients except ice into the blender and blend smooth.
2. If it’s too thick add a bit of water until it’s the consistency you want.
3. Serve very cold over ice.
4. This is from India and is great with Indian curries or other spicy foods.
5. It has a very cooling effect on the mouth.
6. You can make mango lhassi by blending in mango pieces with the yoghurt or try it with different fruits or spices.
